Daniela Cruz Rodríguez was born in Mexico City. She studied History at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), focusing on Art History. She also studied at the University Center for Cinematographic Studies (now ENAC), where she earned a degree in Filmmaking with a specialization in Art Direction.

As a screenwriter and director, her short film A Common Day (FICG, 2011) stands out. Her work as a Production Designer includes Mente Revolver (Alhambra de Oro, Granada Film Festival) and The Black History of Mexican Cinema, as well as Efímera (FICG, 2022) and Pérdida Total, which is set to be released in commercial cinemas this year.

She is currently part of the College of Art at ENAC and a member of the Production Designers Collective. She also organized and coordinated the First International Meeting of Production Design, Film, and Architecture as part of the International Production Design Week, held at the National School of Cinematographic Arts and the Faculty of Architecture at UNAM.

Additionally, she has extensive experience in advertising, having designed around 150 sets for the recording of courses on the Crehana platform in Mexico over a period of a year and a half.
